What to Bring
In the morning, we'll travel by vehicle to the upper part of Isabela, following the road to its end. Here, we'll begin a hike into a geologically unique world. During the hike, we'll admire landscapes of incredible contrast between volcanoes and the sea, eventually reaching the crater rim of Sierra Negra Volcano, the second largest active volcanic caldera in the world. We'll walk around this enormous 30-square-mile crater. If we still have energy, we can continue hiking to Volcán Chico, a place with a unique landscape where red, orange, yellow, and black hues blend together. Here, we can observe fumaroles and spectacular lava formations.
